About Detroit Carved

Loren Lozon is a retired Detroit police officer who now owns a woodworking shop in the City of Detroit called Detroit Carved. Loren was diagnosed with PTSD, which led him to retire from his career in law enforcement. However, woodworking has been a lifelong passion for Loren since he was just 9 years old, and it has been a therapeutic outlet for him throughout his life.

In 2020, after retiring from the police department, Loren decided to turn his hobby into a business and founded Detroit Carved. He now runs the shop alongside his younger brother, Steve, and Loren's two sons, Danny and Zach, who also work at the shop from time to time. Together, they create beautiful wood and metal projects entirely by hand, all within the city limits of Detroit.

Loren and his team are dedicated to creating high-quality, handmade pieces that showcase the beauty of wood and metal. Their work ranges from custom furniture to home decor, all made with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.

Detroit Carved is proud to be a part of the revitalization of the city of Detroit and is committed to creating unique, handcrafted pieces that reflect the city's spirit and resilience.
